Pintail Heaven
In the fall and winter months, Pichiguila Club becomes a hunter’s paradise. Thousands of migratory North American waterfowl cloud the sky above the Chiricahueto Lagoon. Mexico has generous bag limits of 20 ducks per person per day; our guests are awed not only by the number of birds but also by the variety of waterfowl they have the opportunity to shoot. The most abundant of the ducks listed below include the highly prized Pintail, Blue-Winged, Green-Winged and Cinnamon Teal, Scaup, and Spoonbill. Our hunters regularly shoot tens of birds a day! During the hunting season from mid-November to early March, hunters can shoot 12 species of ducks including:
- Blue-winged Teal
- Green-winged Teal
- Cinnamon Teal
- Lesser Scaup
- Northern Shoveler/Spoonbill
- Gadwall
- American Widgeon
- “Pichiguila,” Tree Duck/Fulvous Duck
- Black-Bellied
- Brown-Bellied
- Ruddy Duck
- Mexican Mallard
